After updating the distribution hierarchy, users should update the failover locations package by following the steps below:

Right click on the "Distribution servers" node and click on "Update Failover locations..."

Right click on each individual "Distribution groups" and click on "Failover..."
Thus the failover locations will be updated for all the folders under ManageSoftDL$\ClientSettings\FailoverSettings
This is very import as the "Update failover Locations" event for a schedule can be configured to use different distribution groups.
The above instruction is based on admin console GUI for Deployment Manager 8.0 to 9.0. The GUI for previous or later versions could be slightly different. However, the functions are all there.
