It is important to keep in mind, that RayVentory is trying different inventory methods one after the other if it does not do a successful inventory. In devices and services only the last messge is shown. Therefore the error messages shown here can be misleading. For example, the message "UI connection failed" can be shown even though an earlier inventory method already managed to establish a connection but failed with the authentication.
How to find more information about the reasons why an inventory failed:
- Consult the RayVentory Portal log files. The log files can either be found in "C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Raynet\RayVentoryPortal\Results\Logs" or in "C:\ProgramData\Raynet\RayVentoryPortal\Results\Logs".
- Details on which inventory method failed and why can be found when activating the field "Last failed inventory methods details" in the devices and services list using the column chooser located above the head of the table.
- The "Finished" page of the Inventory Wizard contains details which are available under the "More information..." option (see screenshot).
