RVY200496: How to install RayVentory Server 11.0

Introduction

This article describes how a basic installation of RayVentiory Server 11.0 is performed. 

 

Pre-requisites:

 A server running a vanilla installation of Windows Server 2012 R2 or higher as the RayVentory installation will install all dependencies (IIS, SQL Server Express, etc).

 

Installation:

  • Right click on InstallationLauncher.exe and select "Run as Administrator"
  • Select the RayVentory option

  • Select "Options"

  • Make sure that "Server Setup Type" is set to: AS_RV
  • Set "Installation message mode" to: Verbose

  •  Make sure to keep the default settings in "RVOptions"

  •   Make sure to keep the default settings in "SQL"

  • DO NOT install the Portal because a newer version is available which can be installed later

 

  • Do not install DNA as this is only needed for RayVentory Advanced which requires additional licensing

 

  • Save the configuration and then click on "Install"
  • Once the installation process has completed, reboot the server.
